In January 2013, we conducted an audit regarding 'accessing appointments'. The results were very encouraging:

  • The audit was carried out for one week (5 working days) the week commencing 28th January 2013.
  • A total of 593 patients requested an appointment, either by telephone or in person at the practice.
  • 70% of patients were offered an appointment on the same day (Urgent Care or late release), with a further 8% being offered an advice call.
  • 32% of routine appointments were booked within week 2, and 45% of routine appointments were booked within week 3 which indicates that the average waiting time for a routine appointment is 2-3 weeks.
  • 58% of patients did not request to see a specific GP however, out of the 250 that did, 95% were booked in with the GP of their choice.
